Dear Lakeside Families:

 

Welcome back for the 2010-2011 school year.  It was absolutely wonderful to have everyone at our Open House.  I believe that most of the students and all of the parents were ready for school to begin.

 

We have had an excellent first month of school with students settling in and working hard.  This hard work pays off as once again, Lakeside Elementary achieved some fantastic results on last spring’s MCA Tests.

 

Lakeside School and the Primary School combined efforts to introduce the “Peaceful Bus”.  This is an addition to our Olweus Program which helps to educate children against bullying.  All of our students met at the Primary School by school bus routes with their drivers to review rules, emphasize safety and promote positive interactions on our school busses.  Our wish is that all students learned from this first of three sessions and will practice these skills while riding the bus.

 

A reminder that all the elementary schools are now on a trimester grading period.  Our first Parent/Teacher Conferences are on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of October 18th- 20th.  This is a very important time for you, your child and we as educators to discuss progress and goals.  If you have any questions concerning these conferences, please call your child’s teacher.

 

If you are not aware, the Chisago Lakes School District will be asking voters to approve an Operating Levy on November 2^nd.  If you have questions, please call me at Lakeside School or call Mr. Mike McLoughlin (Superintendent) or Heide Miller (Business Director) at our district office (213-2000).
