Chisago Lakes Middle School is
made up of six CORE groups. Each
grade is divided into two CORES
or teams. Each CORE is comprised
of six to eight staff members
from the science,
communications, math and social
studies departments. Allied arts
teachers from the music,
physical education, art, FACS,
industrial technology and
business departments rotate in
and out of the CORES. The CORES
provide opportunities for
increased academic contact
between the teacher and the
student and better communication
to parents. All CORE teaching
teams meet regularly to discuss
student needs and progress,
goals for units,
interdisciplinary planning,
special events, etc. Every
student is scheduled into a
six period day. Each
academic/allied arts class meets
for fifty-three minute periods.
Four minutes are provided as
passing time. One twenty-five
minute
period is set aside daily for
Core Connect (advisory).
